Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent for the church. The imposition of ashes brings the Christian into a season of preparation traditionally marked by prayer, confession and fasting. The season of Lent ends with the observance of Holy Week when the church remembers the love of God given through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, which we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
